- thats what hes feeling---dont knock it, if you ever got to his level, maybe youd feel the song out that way as well? perhaps?
- ROFLMAO
- I sat 6 feet away from Tal Farlow at the original Blue Wisp Jazz Club in Cincinnati in 1981. He played 3 sets with with the Steve Schmidt Trio with John VonOlen on Drums and Mike Scharfe on bass. Tal was the nicest man you could ever expect to meet, very unassuming. Wes Montgomery loved Tal's playing. Tal Farlow also had the biggest hands I've ever seen on a guitar player. As I recall he stood about 6'4" or 6'5" This man was pioneer stock all the way.
- the tune sounds like he has to take a dump and wants to get through it so he can get to the bowl
- Lovin the vintage gibson L5
- I really enjoy most of Tal's playing, but this one just doesn't swing. It's a halting, choppy version of the tune, too busy, not easy to listen to.
- отлично
- When ya'll get tired of criticizing Tal, I'm sure Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and George Benson need your help, too. God people.
- This guy is GREAT but he over played the song. He showed us his chord vocabulary but not misty played nice. Less is more I think on this classic. Insane guitarist, great , gild the lilly is always a mess.
- Maybe, Avant-Garde.
- man tal doesnt get the credit he deserves he should be just as well known as wes, pass and all them
- God, he talks in chords. This is off the hook!
- Not bad for a begginer, keep the good work up Tal, youll maybe get far someday ;) cheers
- You need hands the size of shovels first! Apparently, Tal could stretch over 7 frets easily and look how that thumb wraps around the bass strings; no effort at all. He gave up playing for a number of years in the height of his career, to go back to 'Sign-writing'. Reckoned most of the music jazzmen played had been explored to the full and it needed a new slant. Hence 'smooth jazz'. Maybe?
- I totally want to be like that when i get to be his age
- goin a bit nuts there
- as much as i love tal farlow...he does
- thats the most overdone shit ive ever heard in my life
- LOL, that's true ! Actually a rapist.
- and i think, he squizes this tune out like a lemon. i love this.
- I love tal but I agree that he is playing to many chord changes in there like some keyboard players I know. It does take away from the smooth melody But what the heck he's Tal if that's what he's feeling right now so be it. I'm pretty sure he probally does not play it the same every time.
- He looks like a serial killer
- i think he is putting way to many chord changes in here and it is not needed its more like a show off thing, i think this sounds sloppy and rough, all the changes take away from the pretty melody too, tal is a legend tho
- Am I the only one who's getting some sort of early to mid-90's Mr. Rogers vibe from this video? o_O And I agree with JazzGeetar. The amount of precision and interdepence between fingers that jazz chord changes at that speed demands is ridiculous.
- TALMAGE !
