- isn't that... well normal? lol!
- I always get high with this amazing song... without the drugs!
- I never thought that was significant- but I may be wrong. I return again to your own interpretation. It's up to you- modern films don't give us that freedom. 2001 ids part of what I think of as the 'holy trinity' of meaningful Sci-Fi: Forbidden Planet 2001: A Space Oydessy Blade Runner But again; just my opinion.
- Get this song at __RINGTONEBRANCH(.)COM__ check it out______
- hell yea HIGH ON FLOYD
- in the words of kubrick ' You're free to speculate as you wish about the philosophical and allegorical meaning of the film—and such speculation is one indication that it has succeeded in gripping the audience at a deep level—but I don't want to spell out a verbal road map for 2001 that every viewer will feel obligated to pursue or else fear he's missed the point'. alot of allegory also takes place in this film, so watch it again and keep that in mind.
- thanks for correcting me for 'get' vs 'interpret'. the monolith always occurs at a time of human evoloution. so when the stargate turns sideways, its kubrick's way of saying 'turn the monolith sideways', saying that we are constantly evolving. "interpret" it now?
- Right, you said you didn't get it- actually that is a fair comment because nobody 'gets' 2001; you *interpret* it. At the end of the day the ending to 2001 and it's possible synchronicity (I had to spell-check that word coz I'm stupid) to 'Echoes' is up to you- transplant your own meaning. Personally I always thought that the Monoliths were machines that outlasted their creators like HAL9000 attempts to do with the humans on Discovery. An evolutionary Alpha and Omega, so to speak.
- On which comment?
- that's because you're a divvy.
- So whats the message? Ive seen it twice, I still dont get it
- Rap, Reggie, and other forms of new music, cannot do anything like this! Pink Floyd really broke the mold and went into your head and made you think about the meaning of life, why we are here etc. PF has the best selling albulm of all time. Rap cannot compare itself to this at all
- There was also talk of them doing the score to an animated film called 'Rollo' that never happened.
- I would love for the rumour to be true, and it's certainly not implausible. However, you can't read very much into the fact that the track scores so well with the video -- in my limited experience of choreography, I have found the most startling musical accompaniments just through sheer chance.
- You see the monolith, you f***ing leave. You do not want. It is full of stars.
- stanley kubrick was a master at subcontious messages. as in, once you've watched the movie a million times or so, then you get the philosophical meaning of it all. the same works with a clockwork orange (except less strange).
- WOW this is simply WOW my favorite movie and my favorite band thank you, this was great
- Thanks for that! Happy new year:)
- It's not Jupiter ht eroom is in. Its thru the stargate, somewhere else in spae and time, an alien planet he flies over near the end with weird colours.
- First song and cool video for the last year of the first decade of he 21st century. 2010, next year, is THE YEAR WE MAKE CONTACT. Lot of exciting things happening, and getting ready to happen. Check the News.
- First song of 2009.
- Its my guess that he is meeting his maker and his "Mortal" self. That his "Tool", his body is broken and decaying. He has to make the choice to move to the next level of evolution. Happy new year.
- the "Italian film" was Zabriskie Point by Antonioni.
- I always get high with this amazing song... without the drugs!
- the whole part there is my fav part!
