- 1citycouncil. Barbara's and Kiri's voices are made to record many songs. Both are wonderful.
- Mary was the mother of Jesus. She was no European or American. She was Palestinian. This beautiful song was written for Mary.
- you don't even know what 'virgin' or ' mary' means, so shut up you wanna be intellectual
- there was no virgin marry. The bible is a made up copy of paganism and the egyption book of the dead, watch zeitgeist, hello?
- this is the prayer to the virgin mary...
- wow. just wow. I think this is definitely up there as far as favorites go. I like that she enunciated the words.
- you wrote beautyful words in your infos, but its the prayer ave maria...
- hmm beautiful but i have to say i still prefer Hayley Westenra's version..simpler like, but still-very beautiful.
- Ahem.....Barbara Bonney...sorry.
- Awesome Song !!! But as a German i have to admit that the translation you postet is not really exact or good. Maybe you should go look for another one or write me a pm and ill translate it right ! greetz
- Some voices seem made for performing specific songs. I believe this is of one those instances. Te Kanawa's Gretchen am Spinnrade is another.
- This has been on my iPod for...maybe 2 years now...and I never knew it was Barbara Bonney. Her voice is too gorgeous for words. Thanks for posting this video. ^_^
- WOW!
- Very Well sung... Best version i've listened to of that quaility!!!
- goose bumps
- I don't know why but everytime I hear this piece I picture myself in a gigantic cathedral as an angelic woman sings near the alter.
- Ja, die Sängerin singt Deutsch. Yes, the singer sings German. Ich glaube die Übersetzung ist auch recht gut. I think the translation is quite good. Aber ich selbst obwohl ich Deutscher bin verstehe nicht den ganzen Text. But I alltough I am German cant hear the whole text. So I think it is realy a beautifull peace. I wish a good Year 2009. By the way if you lock for the scales in German it is called: Meditation über ein Thema von Bach von Gounoth
- Ahhhh!!!!!! Blis!!!!!!!!!
- I think you may have a problem with you'r soundcard or something because I can hear it fine on both of my computers
- Thank you for posting this! I think that the pictures work beautifully with this song!!
- kil. A lot longer than that. Mohammed died in 632 AD. Still, 600 or 1400 years, its still a long time.
- fyi islam has been around about 600 yrs less
- ...why is the sound so low? i can barely hear it. i have to turn my speakers up high but then i get interference and crackling from it. please post a better version.
- I'd be so obliged if you could post the German lyrics also!
- ich denke dieses lied berührt das urgefühl vertrauen in den menschen und vertrauen zu gott ist liebe und somit das höchste aller gefühle- i think this song touches the feeling trust to god and moves us because the trust to god is love and love is the highest of every feeling
