    You don't always have to know what goes on. There was a war, someone was captured, someone went in to save him, was found out, was killed, but the prisoner escaped, came to a dead end and chose to be killed rather than tortured or run the risk of giving information about his operation. Something along those lines, I'm guessing. :D
