- Shit! Pure 80s! I was expecting people with mullets and rolled up sleeves to be dancing at the side of the road.
- awesome! lucky man.
- Can't belive it!! 20 years ago I was there - on the climb of Alp D'Huez. Freezing my balls off as it was very cold and I'd just climbed te Col Du Glandon sweating my skin off to get there before the TDF arrived. It was worth every minute of suffering though just to witness Tour de France history unfolding.
- BRING BACK THE MUSIC!!! makes it way more exciting.
- Lucho Herrera, Fabio Parra, Perico Delgado... qué tiempos !! y qué agradecidos por loas buenas tardes que nos hicieron pasar !! Gracias !!
- Man! That is some CHEESY music. I've still got my Delgado Reynolds shirt, I think it will smell of my cycling sweat for all eternity!
- Perico Delgado, el puto amo!!! Gracias por esas tardes de gloria!!!
- i am amazed at how the music of the CBS tours were great. It just fit with the race. Somehow, that crappy new age music fits with the Tour de France!
- Song: Brain Dead Weasel by John Tesh. Song is on the CD: Tour de France, The Early Years. BUT it is different than what is in this video. The song in the video he recorded in a truck in France for the TV show. When he went into the studio to record the CD, he changed the song quite a bit. I have the original, and it is the same song.
- That's Yanni, and John Tesh!!
- Love the porno music!
- Socalrider, this is epic! Thanks for posting. Cycling at its best...leaders actually chasing attacks, no "blue trains", or race radios. They may have doped too, but at least it doesn't seem as prevalent as the later Basso/Landis/Armstrong/Hamilton era. Riders actually had bad days back then. As a Canadian, the sight of 170 lb. Steve Bauer closing in on the leaders was one of the reasons I got into cycling.
- Check out the anchient saddles! Damn those were the waning golden years ofr cycling.
- ah, good call!
- Kewlios
- ok , but can you write the name of the song when you find it ? please put the name CLEAR , because my english is very bad .
- john tesh...not sure of teh track off hand and lazy but definately jt
- I think that's a hairnet bauer was carrying in his back pocket
- Go Bauer!!!!!!!!!!GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! ALLLEZZZZZZZ!
- thank you for your information . yes , the first song is of yanni , but the song about i was talking begins in the minute 5:09 . ( bauer in yellow jersey ) please help me with this song
- Hampsten getting passed by Bauer at 7:00 -- what a blow. (A bit like Valverde getting caught by Rasmussen in this year's ITT.) But that's the gamble: Hampsten pushed too hard for too long while Bauer found his natural rhythm, and in the end the cautious approach won.
- Wait -- go to 3:00 -- is than a spare tube that Steve Bauer is carrying in his back pocket? What is this, the 50s??? :)
- that's a yanni song call (i think) "keys to imagination"
- those were the epic battles of the 80's in Cycling-just pure pain, tears & courage, with real heroes-real human beings trying their best to reach victory... God I miss those Days. thanks for posting it.
- - Please I don´t Understand in spanish please , in spanish write .
