- Just fabulous! Monk has so much energy, all over the place with his funky use of space, letting Rouse and band carry the melody. 5 minutes of pure joy.
- The title is:I mean You.
- what's the title?
- Thank you for the videos. I have been looking everwhere for more of Frankie Dunlop, one of my favorites but unsung. I don't think any one worked better with Monk than Frankie. Dunlop knocks me out and no one ever writes about him, names him as an influence or anything. I think there are three unsung drummers that get no credit for anything and that is Dunlop, Vernell Fournier and Sonny Payne. Sonny Payne drove the Basie Band and Vernell and Ahmad worked just like Dunlop and Monk(I made it).
- and frankie dunlop, the happiest sounding drummer in jazz. he had a vibe...happy. thank Goodness for these musicians!!!
- i saw rouse in 83 in s.f.,calif. he was wonderful. what an original. i asked him how does he practice. he said when you play your scales, play them melodically, like songs. G-d bless mr charlie rouse!!! and all these cats.
- Charlie Rouse was the man!
- Qué elegante es Frankie Dunlop! Su manera de acentuar es muy personal; y ciertamente, da pena que no se haya sabido apreciar su talento para el Bop en general, no tiene el lugar que le corresponde como baterista en la historia del Jazz Moderno.
- me too..i have a lot video of him..i will put more...
- Fantastic Stuff, my man. All 3 parts. Monk is one of my favorite jazz composers, and Rouse just gleams here as well.
