    this song is actually by a composer who never got any of his works put to sheet music. his life became lonely and depressing, and his wife left him. soon after, he wrote this song about her leaving him and contemplating suicide, it finally got printed. unfourtunatly, listeners could relate too well to his lyrics, and many suicicdes occured, and in each one, gloomy sunday is mentioned. either in suicide notes or being played repeatedly. at one point it was banned in Hungary until 2002.
